Fire and Iron Station 68 was formed in a small fire station located just east of Kansas City, Missouri. A small group of eight people would meet for the first time in order to discuss the formation and name of this group. From this meeting, the next was planned along with the election of officers, initiation of an organization, bank accounts, membership dues, national membership affiliation, and recruiting were among the highest topics of concern.

October 27th, 2007 was the date of the second meeting which took place in the meeting room of Zarda's BBQ located in Blue Springs, Missouri.With three additional recruits present than before, officers were elected and the new membership was delegated individual responsibilities from the Office of President to "Road Captain".
